Environmental management system
Volkswagen Slovakia adheres to the environmental and energy policies of the Volkswagen Group and maintains and develops its certified environmental and energy management systems according to them.
We follow the principles of environmental and energy management systems: our primary goal is to make the most efficient use of resources, reduce the production of emissions and waste and to save electrical energy and water. The goal of the waste management system is to reuse produced waste with the aim of reducing the overall amount of waste.
Volkswagen Slovakia maintains and develops the established system of environmental and energy management certified in accordance with the requirements of ISO standards 14 000 and 50 001. The Environmental Management System according to ISO 14 001 and the Energy Management System according to ISO 50 001 applies to the plants in Bratislava, and Martin. The Environmental Management System according to ISO 14 001 has been in force at the Bratislava plant since 2003.
In 2022, an external recertification audit was carried out that confirmed that Volkswagen Slovakia, a.s. fulfilled the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 international standards and established and systematically developed systems of environmental and energy management at all company levels.

Certification according to EN ISO 14 001:2004/2015, ISO 50 001:2018 has already passed six certification periods. In order to make optimal use of available resources, the Energy Management System (EnMS), an integral part of the Environmental Management System, has been built up step by step.
