Porsche Produced Entirely in Slovakia

Slovakia earned the trust of the luxury brand Porsche and the entire Volkswagen Group. Following several years of experience and high-quality performance, the plant was entrusted with the complete production of the new generation Porsche Cayenne. Since 2017, this iconic vehicle has been shipped exclusively from Bratislava to customers around the world on its own wheels. To support the third generation of the model, a new body shop and a new assembly hall were built, with total investment reaching €800 million.

The 5 Millionth Vehicle Milestone

In 2017, Volkswagen Slovakia produced its five-millionth vehicle – a white Volkswagen Touareg, which was delivered to a customer in Australia.

New SUVs

The new generation of the Volkswagen Touareg soon followed, with production relocated to the new body shop alongside Audi models. In the same year, a new SUV model arrived in Bratislava – the Audi Q8, produced exclusively in Slovakia in all engine variants.

The Electric Trio

In August 2019, series production of the upgraded Volkswagen e-up! with extended range began. By the end of the year, two additional models received electric powertrains: the ŠKODA CITIGOe iV and the SEAT Mii electric. In line with the Volkswagen Group’s commitment to carbon neutrality, the share of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in production has been steadily increasing.

Porsche Expands

The Porsche portfolio was expanded with a second model, the attractive Porsche Cayenne Coupé.

Electric Offensive

By the end of 2020, all fully manufactured SUVs produced at the Bratislava plant were available with plug-in hybrid powertrains, including the Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q8.

The 6 Millionth Vehicle Produced in Bratislava

In 2020, the six-millionth vehicle rolled off the production line and celebrated its milestone moment at the end of the assembly process.

Support for the ŠKODA Brand

In the same year, Bratislava began producing its ninth model. The compact SUV ŠKODA Karoq joined the New Small Family segment for final assembly.

Passat Returns

Production of the Volkswagen Passat returned to Bratislava, and the ŠKODA SUPERB was also added to the plant’s portfolio. The €500 million investment was completed in 2023 with the launch of production of the new generations of these models.
